Exposed

Now the ultimate goal for photographers (in my opinion) is to get the settings perfect on your camera before shooting so that you don't have to spend a ton of time fixing your mistakes in the editing process later.  However, sometimes you just want to pick up your camera and start shooting and things are not perfect.  Here is an example from a few weeks ago, where I wanted to enjoy my shower and not spend it tinkering with the settings on my DSLR.  Here is the original photo:

Here is the edited photo.  Basically I had to increase the exposure and let more light in (obviously the original was too dark), then I adjusted the white balance (making the white in the photograph a true white for the lighting) and lastly I adjusted the sharpness of the image ever so slightly to make up for the lens blur.

Editing can be a lot of fun but it also takes a lot of time, I need to be better at setting the camera correctly beforehand, not only do I think you get better pictures but I think you are more of a photographer and less of an editor.

We traveled to Ephrata last weekend for Easter and I was thrown a baby shower, it was perfect!

Pretty Pretty Peacock

This is perhaps my favorite image from our trip to the zoo yesterday.  I love the glowing bright blue and the almost neon green in the feathers.  Pretty.
